Attendance Policy
We're here for you, and need you to be there for us!
Hop Brook Counseling Center is a busy place with a limited number of therapists and a limited number of hours. The time that you set for your session is reserved for you. If you don’t show up for appointments or you cancel them at the last minute, you are not only not following your treatment plan, but you are denying that time to someone else who could have used that hour. In order to accommodate as many people as possible who want, and are committed to receiving counseling services, the following attendance policy is in place.

You will be discharged from treatment if you:
-
Do not show up for a scheduled appointment.
-
Cancel two consecutive appointments.
-
Cancel numerous times within a short period of time, or otherwise show a pattern of cancellations.
-
Do not attend counseling appointments while participating in medication management services.
It is your responsibility to verify other commitments to make sure therapy appointments do not conflict with them. Please do not wait until reminder calls/texts are sent to inform your therapist that you are not able to attend your appointment the following day, as slots can be filled with other individuals waiting to be seen.

We understand that there may be times when you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, but would ask that you do so as far in advance as possible. If you know that you will not be able to keep an appointment, please call or text your provider at least 24 hours in advance. If you do not cancel your appointment within 24 hours, it is our policy to charge a $75 late cancellation fee (as allowed by your insurance).
